Whatever happened to the Parish Plan?

In 2010 you said…………………………………………….And today

Maintain our peace and tranquillity, keep Torver uncommercialised………………………. Still quiet and see the Neighbourhood Plan

Speeding traffic is a problem - we need a 30 mph limit ………………………..……40 mph limit in place, 30 mph limit is on its way soon

Walking on the main road is dangerous………………………………Torver Trail from the Old Rectory to the Church House avoids the road

Paths need repairing……………………………………Park Ground to the Mill resurfaced; Carr Lane being reclassified and repairs planned

We need to do our bit for affordable housing, but no more………………………Butcher Moss complete, and see Neighbourhood Plan

Some of us would like to see tourism expand………………………………Some improvements and expansions made by existing businesses

Small employment units at the goods yard………………………………………………………….See the Neighbourhood Plan

We’d like to see more village activities, and the Schoolroom expand………Wilson’s Arms has been doing its bit, and see the NP

We could do with a village shop…………………………………………………………Thank you, Matthew and the Torver Deli

We need to look after the Commons, becks and lake…………………………..Commoners and Coniston & Crake Partnership are active

We’d like to know more about the Commons, becks and lake…………………local walks and talks have been organised- more possible

We’d like recycling bins in the village………………………………………………………..………it’s being costed by SLDC !

We’d like to improve the look of the middle of the village…………………PC has raised funds and a group of villagers is working on it

We think a Torver website might be useful…………………………………………………………….…Thank you, David Rogers

We’re halfway through the time for this Parish Plan now – we review again next year, and this Plan runs out in 2015, when we’ll be surveying you again and drawing up a new one.
