Torver Parish Council
It is with huge sadness that we learnt of the recent passing of David Rogers.
David was creative, kind and funny. His sense of humour, coupled with a healthy disregard for authority made him an engaging and entertaining character. David was the invention and dedication behind Nobbut Torver and we will be eternally thankful for his steadfast and loyal support for our village. On hearing the comment that "There's nothing better than Coniston" his response was "Nobbut Torver". Erudite and witty, David will always be remembered with great fondness as a cornerstone of the Torver community.
"" I'm sorry to say that David Rogers passed away peacefully in his sleep
on Saturday 11th February from cancer. David didn't like fuss and
requested that nobody was told of his illness, and that there would be no
funeral service. David enjoyed setting up the original website and email
service and was really pleased to know it was carrying on. Thank you all
for your support for David. A special thank you to Torver plc for the
wall plaque and , according to David, the excellent whisky. One made him
laugh and the other warmed A good few cockles.
Thank you all. Glenis and family"
